Privacy Policy

The privacy policy of Private Octopus is simple: we do not track you. We do not use cookies or any form of tracking device. We do not keep data about individual users.

For full disclosure, the web site is built using Apache, which by default keeps a log of every transaction, including the source IP address, the data and time of the transaction, the URL of the page being accessed, and the User-Agent string identifying the browser. The logs are kept for 14 days, and then deleted.

We use the logs to understand how the web site is used. We might be compelled to provide access to these logs by some kind of law enforcement request, but apart from that we are definitely not selling or otherwise providing the logs to any third party. The data is only accessible by administrators of the site.

This page was updated on July 17, 2024. We will update it again if the privacy policy changes.
